With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, many people think of February as the month of love, filled with greeting cards, flowers and gifts. But February is also American Heart Month – the perfect time to think about, or re-access your health, while giving your heart a little extra love and attention. Simple lifestyle changes can make a big impact when it comes to heart health, and after all, taking care of and loving yourself, is the greatest love you can give, not only to yourself, but to everyone around you.
Self-love inspires you to make healthy choices and choose the things that nurture your well-being, which of course, nurtures your heart. These things may include eating clean healthy foods, exercising, stress management, getting a bit more sleep, and choosing relationships that nurture your mind and spirit. Loving yourself, lets you love others more authentically which has been proven to improve heart health. Whether it is love for a significant other, family members, your best friend or your furbaby, LOVE is the key element to wellness and health.
